TUCP, CotProv and DOH give out 5.7M worth of Projects
Seventeen (17) barangays in Cotabato Province received 5.7M worth of Infra Projects - one (1) unit of multi-cab from Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), Two (2) units Multi- purpose Building from the Provincial Government of Cotabato, and (1) Unit Birthing Facility from Department of Health on July 25, 2012. All the above-mentioned projects were facilitated by the Provincial Government of Cotabato.
Barangay Kadingilan, Midsayap, one of the recipients of one unit multi-cab and one unit of multi-purpose building hosted the short turn over ceremony with the help of barangay, municipal, and provincial personnel. Other multi-cab recipients were Barangays Nabalawag, Olandang, Central Labas, Kadigasan, Lumopog, Sambulawan, Macasendeg, Damatulan, Kudarangan, Malingao, Mudseng, Kapinpilan, Tugal and Upper Labas. The next barangay visited, Barangay New Leon, Aleosan received one (1) unit Birthing Facility and Barangay Upper Mingading, Aleosan received one (1) unit multi-purpose building.
In her simple message, Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza emphasized how the word unity affects the performance of the Provincial Government of Cotabato as it delivers “Serbisyong Totoo” to its constituents. “We in the capitol are united, let us also be united as Cotabateños, there should be no reasons why we should fight against each other in North Cotabato so let us take care of our province.” She also added that each tribe must have the voice in the capitol regardless of race and tribe.
Hon. Raymond Democrito Mendoza of TUCP party list was represented by Mr. Timothy Paguican, who in his message said that the recipients were lucky to be chosen as beneficiaries of the multi-cabs because TUCP partnered with the Provincial Government of Cotabato. He also informed the residents that TUCP does not only help the people of Cotabato Province but the entire Philippines as well.
Midsayap Mayor Manuel M. Rabara, Midsayap Vice-Mayor Vivencio V. Deomampo, and Aleosan Mayor Loreto V. Cabaya both thanked the Governor for the projects given to their municipalities assuring that the people of Midsayap and Aleosan will continue to support the programs implemented by the government.
All the barangay chairmen expressed their profound gratitude for the support extended by TUCP, Provincial Government of Cotabato, and Department of Health. Hon. John C. Estestes, barangay chairman for Barangay New Leon, Aleosan said the residents of their barangay will greatly benefit from the facility not only for pregnant women but for the infants and children too.
More multi-cabs will be distributed to the Municipalities of M’lang, Tulunan, Magpet, and Arakan soon.
Gov. Lala: “Stop registering as flying voters”
On the same turn-over ceremony at Barangay Kadingilan, Midsayap, Gov. Lala reminded the residents to stop registering at Maguindanao Province for this will affect the IRA of their barangay. “Once you register to other province and you also registered in North Cotabato, you will not be able to vote. The voter’s population will decrease in your barangay because COMELEC will be able to monitor your name through biometrics, and once this happens, your IRA will also decrease.”
As she introduced Edris Gandalibo, Deputy Governor for Muslim Affairs in Cotabato Province, she said that she purposely assigned him to make sure that the muslim communities will not be left out from the government programs. Added to that, she also assigned muslim personnel from the provincial office - Ebrahim Balawag for the muslim communities near Ligawasan Marsh, Ben Karon as focal person for World Food Programme, and Ibrahim Unayan as focal person for Engineering.
Governor Taliño-Mendoza then advised flying voters from North Cotabato to withdraw their registration from Maguindanao and register back in the province. sgjh
